1 XENOPHOBIA: One of the incidents that struck the media this week was the xenophobia attack which created a clash between Nigerians and South Africans . This made some popular companies in Nigeria to be burnt, while some where short down like ShopRite in Lagos, MTN offices across the globe. Nigerians were not actually given opportunity to express freedom to own property and also the freedom of movement.

2 Still on Xenophobia Attack: It was reported that president Mohammadu Buhari , during the week, sent his envoy to go and look at the bedeviling situation between Nigerians and South Africans . Well with these, Nigerians have condemned the president over his attitude towards the attack of his fellow Nigerians attacked in South Africa.

3 Comming back to Nigeria now, we have Lai Mohammed and Buhari’s Certificate: Just on Friday, the video went viral where the minister for information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed allegedly came out to the public to tell Nigerians that , president Mohammadu Buhari did not know where he kept his school certificate. It could be recalled that this is not the first time , Buhari’s Certificate will be spoken about, especially during the 2019 elections.

4 Robbert Mugabe: The media on Friday sadly announced the death of former Zimbabwe president , Robbert Mugabe who died in the early hours of Friday at the age of 95. Some Nigerians have described the late Mugabe as a man of vision , and one who aspired for new things while he was alive. May his soul rest in peace to peace.

5 And Lastly: On Wednesday, media practitioners across Nigeria gathered in the city of Abeokuta to discuss on how effective journalism can promote professionalism in the media industry.Veterans like professor Lai Osho, Aremo Taiwo Alimi and Araba Tola Adeniyi said that there is need for professionalism in the media. On one voice, they all stated that the media should play the role of advocacy in Nigeria, whereby there would be difference between experiment and reality.
