The All Progressive Congress, APC, in Nembe Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, has debunked the claims of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, asserting that it’s members were attacked by the party, while heading for campaign in the Nembe community, describing the statement of the PDP as wicked and malicious.
Ala Mathias Nyenye, Chairman, APC Media and Publicity committee, Nembe LGA, made this known in a statement issued on Sunday.
He said that the APC would not have bothered to reply the statement made by the PDP, considering the fact that it came from the campaign spokesman of the PDP, Jonathan Obuebite, who is known for high level of insincerity and desperation.
According to him, the PDP has rather issued a threat to the APC in Nembe local government area, while claiming that they were attacked by the party.
Nyenye, alleged that the PDP who had a campaign in Brass local government area, in the state, hired thugs from neighboring states down to the community, and failed to fulfill the obligations made to the thugs, which later resulted to mayhem, affecting innocent indigenes.
He warned that the campaign spokesman of the PDP, Obuebite, concentrates on campaigning for the candidate of his party, which he said has already been rejected by the people of the state, rather than inciting the public against the APC in the state.
He further called on security agencies, to call Obuebite to order for steering up conflict, noting that such statements, if not properly checked, will cause unrest in the local government area and the state at large.
